Apparently, the sky thought a
bunch of MINI owners must have a great time, so late in
November, the sky was clear, the sun was bright, and
snow was no where to be found! Yes yes, even the
MINI god is watching over us (if there is one, haha)

The turn out was just amazing, over 30 MINIs
showed up at the Crowfoot village mall just outside of the local
Calgary MINI Dealership at 12pm. Everyone had a great time
chatting and checking out everyone else's MINI. We also
had a couple of brand spanking new MINIs on the lot! Sean,
one of the Motoring Advisors from Calgary MINI was busy handing
out MINI Cooper hats, thanks Sean!
So after we gathered everyone together and handed them a map of
the route (See the map here,
I made it!) we set off west on Highway 1A. Since I made
the map, and was least likely to get lost (not that its hard to
get lost if the destination lies on the other end of the same
highway?) I was in the lead! Thanks to Craig (the Motoring
Advisor whom I bought my own MINI off of!) I had a CVT automatic
MINI Cooper for a test drive. I wanted to know of a CVT
Cooper might suit myself and my family better, so this is the
perfect opportunity to see how it drives in the semi demanding
road of Highway 1A.
As you can see, we formed a HUGE line, I
think everyone had a blast, and everyone else that didn't have a
MINI were jealous! (or in the case of big SUVs, wanted to
hit us)
We stopped at Ghost Lake to stretch our
legs a little bit and have a little photoshoot, what a sight to
see with all the MINIs lined up together!

Then we headed west following Highway 1A
through some nice twisty roads in the foothills of Alberta, that
was fun. Although I couldn't do the speed that I wanted,
since I had 2 other people on board the MINI, and I was
"supposed" to be a safe leader for all the other MINIs.
This car is so much fun to drive in the twisty roads and gives
you so much confidence, I just wish I could drive the car nearer
the limit, hehe.
Our destination in Canmore was the Chez
Fancious restaurant, we prebooked the restaurant for all the
MINI owners, they normally don't open on Sunday afternoon!
The food was great, and the best part was MINI Crowfoot of
Calgary sponsored the lunch! Thanks guys!
While we were all enjoying the lunch, a
stray MINI Cooper S showed up outside! Poor fellow,
apparently he didn't know there was a MINI meet and he just
happened to drive by!

After we're all fed and watered, it was
time to go home! The sun was just starting to set, and
driving home at a slightly more spirited speed was so much fun!
MINI Meets rock!
